Crooked Tree Coffee House

Another Guest Blog from Bonnie!

This cozy coffeehouse will remind you of your favorite college hangout spot. Great coffee in a cute old house with lots of comfortable seating and little nooks to hide away in to study or work all afternoon. 95% of the clientele may be on laptops, but that means it’s nice and quiet so you can hear the very pleasant, relaxing background music while you hang out. They’ve got all kinds of coffee and tea, and a decent selection of pastries. It’s a little hard to find, because the signage isn’t great, but once you do, plan to stick around for a while. Bring a book (or a MacBook, if you want to fit in) and take some time to unwind. If you buy one of their cute reusable cups, you even get the drink in it for free!

From me: Check out the great old architecture and new colors. Fun place – thanks, Bon!

Junkadoodle’s Spring Flea Market

Saturday will be the day to head to Lovers Lane and watch for the balloons!  Junkadoodle is sponsoring their second annual Spring Flea Market and ten other area shops will join in the fun.  Participating shops will be flying balloons.  Look for “Old Furniture, Used Furniture, Assemblage Art, Big Art, Folk Art and lots of Cool Junk. Old Friends, New Friends and great acquaintances” at places like Arteriors Too, Ditto Boutique, Eliza’s Little Shop on Lovers and more!  Get inspired at Pigment School of the Arts, offering classes in drawing, pastel, painting, sculpture and ceramics for all ages.  Check out their summer schedule for the kids!  May 15 from 9:00am to 6:00pm, west of Inwood on West Lovers Lane.

Again & Again

When you’ve finished your coffee at The Pearl Cup, make your way down to Bonita Street.  Again & Again is a vintage furniture store that’s stuffed full of furniture, lighting, and wall decor.  They offer full services to update and upholster furniture pieces.  My personal preference is new furniture, but my daughter introduced me to Again & Again – as a big MadMen fan she loves the 50s and 60s vintage look.  Located at 5207 Bonita off of Henderson St. in Dallas.
